The World of Concrete Expo saw another massive turnout for 2019. This year’s expo, which took place at the Las Vegas Convention Center from February 3rd through 7th, drew over 58,000 registered industry professionals and featured over 1600 exhibits. Professionals from many areas of the concrete industry were in attendance and took advantage of all the expo had to offer including product demonstrations, educational seminars, certification training and even entertainment. In case you missed it, don’t worry-the expo will be returning next year. In the meantime, here are a few highlights from this year’s hugely successful event:
WOC Attendance at a 10-Year High!
This year’s events were so successful that it marked the best turnout in a decade. Jackie James, World of Concrete Group Director, had this to say:
“This year has been a very successful event–World of Concrete 2019 attendees, both domestic and international, experienced the newest products, technologies and educational offerings. Having our largest event in 10 years proves that the construction sector is strong globally. The education program was well received with a 5% increase in attendance. We want to thank all the exhibitors and attendees who made WOC a must-attend event for 2019, and we look forward to a successful WOC 2020!”
Kevin Archibald, World of Concrete Show Manager, added:
“We are very excited with the results. The positive energy indicates a strong year ahead. This year brought in record breaking attendees, exceptional exhibits, and a very solid rebook rate of just over 538,000 net sq. ft. of exhibit space, rebooking 70% of the total 2019 square footage onsite for next year’s show.”
World of Concrete Education Program
Never stop learning! The year’s expo featured over 180 educational offerings that can help you stay abreast of innovative technologies and products.
The expo featured a whopping 135 industry speakers covering a wide variety of topics. Some examples included:
“Pervious Concrete Installer Certification Review” by Alan Sparkman, Executive Director at Tennessee Concrete Association.
“Leading Edge Techniques for Finishing Industrial & High-End Commercial Floors” by Bob Simonelli, Senior Consultant-Principal at Structural Services Inc.
“The Designer’s Influence on Concrete Houses” by Brent Anderson, President at BDA Associates LLC.
In total, the expo provided over 70 new sessions providing key concepts in the areas of leadership, safety and construction fundamentals while also providing specific certifications.
Products and Technologies
The expo features cutting-edge products and technologies. Your work is only as good as the tools you use, and this is the place to see and learn about top-of-the-line concrete and masonry construction products. From cranes to crushers to rebar to insulation, the expo puts on display all types of products that will help your firm achieve its full potential.
This year’s expo also featured some heavy-hitters in the large equipment arena. In the world of concrete, one of the biggest pieces of heavy-equipment is the mobile concrete pump. This year’s expo featured companies such as Putzmeister, Schwing, Alliance Concrete Pumps, Concord, Everdigm, and Liebherr, that produce various types of concrete pumps and related accessories. This company offers new as well as used pumps and even has the capability to refurbish pumps back to a high-performance condition.
With a wide variety of concrete pumps, technologies and other products to choose from as well as the applicable education and certifications, the expo can provide your business with the solution to get to the next level.
